History of Chaigeley School Council Our House System Reward Trips Supporting Chaigeley School

Our current school council was established 2009 and has proven to be a great success.  We are proud to have made a difference in our school and local community.  We have affected a number of changes in school and in particular our councilors are proud of our ongoing campaign to tackle bullying.  We are also proud to have raised money for local charities by undertaking a number of fundraising events.  The aims of our council are to;

 

  • Enable children and young people to be active stakeholders in their school
  • Provide an extra network of communication throughout the school
  • Teach the basics about our political systems
  • Assist with organisation of special events and fundraising activities
  • Add an important dimension to the review of behaviour management and associated policy and practice
  • Improve standards of behaviour
  • Build pupil’s confidence and self-esteem
  • Encourage shy and disaffected pupils to be more involved
  • Reduce the likelihood of bullying
  • Offer pupils the opportunity to learn additional valuable skills
