Welcome to Chaigeley School

Once again Chaigeley welcomed their visitors from Springwood school. After easily overcoming Springwood in the first encounter, Chaigeley would find this strengthened Springwood team a much tougher proposition. Chaigeley opened the scoring early through Liam Dickinson, shortly followed by a close range effort from Corey Martin via a Marcus Hayes corner. Springwood then started to show a much improved temp, with their star man wearing number 16 dictating proceedings in the middle of the park and 2 quick goals brought parity to the scoreline.

A clear foul on Marcus Hayes in the penalty area which was converted by Hayes took Chaigeley in front again, then for Liam Dickinson to extend the lead to 4-2, before a quick reply from Springwood. A fine solo effort from Dickinson restored Chaigeley’s 2 goal advantage before 2 quick goals from Springwood gave them parity on the scoresheet for the first time. However, joy was short lived from the visitors when a combination of Hayes and Dickinson brought a 4th goal for Dickinson almost straight from kickoff. The victory was complete courtesy of a strong run and finish from Corey Martin, driving from his own half to secure the victory

Man of the Match awarded by the Chaigeley coaching team went to debutant Nathaniel Burnett who made some timely interceptions when the match was in the balance.
